Nationalist Party Plans Nationwide Talks to Support Parliamentary Reform with First Session in Tainan on the 15th

Reported about 1 year ago

The Legislative Yuan recently passed parliamentary reform-related bills; however, the Executive Yuan subsequently proposed a reconsideration. In response to the ruling party's public talks to gain support, the Nationalist Party criticized the move as stirring social division. The Nationalist Party announced plans to organize talks across the country starting from Tainan on June 15, aiming to spread the necessity and accurate information about parliamentary reform. They plan to hold at least one talk in every county and city and invite lawmakers to explain the importance and legitimacy of the reform. The Nationalist Party highlights this parliamentary reform as the third wave of democratic changes in Taiwan, aiming for a balanced parliament representing the people's will to oversee the government democratically.
