Nationalist Party to Establish Mirror TV Investigation Team, Expected to Exercise Hearing Rights; Su Rongtai Calls for Implementation after Constitutional Interpretation

Reported 12 months ago

The Nationalist Party's parliamentary caucus has scheduled the establishment of a special investigation team on the 'Mirror TV application and subsequent malfeasance controversy' on July 3, which may include exercising hearing rights, marking the first time after an amendment to parliamentary powers! Prime Minister Su Rongtai stated in an interview on July 2 that four institutions have proposed constitutional interpretations, urging everyone not to pressure the grand justices during this period and to allow them to make judgements at an appropriate time. Su emphasized that conducting actions based on the ruling after the interpretation is more appropriate and in line with safeguarding the constitution. Following the enactment of the parliamentary powers amendment, a request for constitutional interpretation and temporary suspension has been submitted by one executive branch and three Yuan institutions, prompting the Nationalist Party's Transport Committee convener Chen Xuesheng to adjust the agenda to establish the investigation team. Su, prior to attending the legislative session for administrative reports, emphasized the importance of awaiting the constitutional interpretation results before proceeding further, ensuring actions taken are lawful and legitimate.
