To counter the Democratic Progressive Party's plan to promote 'parliamentary expansion,' the Nationalist Party's Organization and Development Committee Chair Hsu Yu-chen announced that starting around June 15 until the end of June, at least one medium-sized forum on 'parliamentary reform' will be held in each of the 22 counties and cities in Taiwan. Hsu emphasized the importance of these forums and criticized the DPP for disregarding public opinion on legislative reform, urging President Lai Ching-te to bravely face the issue. The forums aim to educate the public on the significance and necessity of the parliamentary reforms recently passed by the Legislative Yuan.
