Energy Fuels Inc. has finalized an agreement with the Navajo Nation to restart uranium ore transport across their territory following a six-month impasse that halted operations at the company's Arizona mine. The deal includes several safety measures requested by Navajo leaders and allows shipments to resume in February, facilitating the transport of uranium to Utah for processing. Additionally, Energy Fuels will relocate up to 10,000 tons of uranium waste from abandoned mines at no cost to the Navajo Nation.
