On June 16, aboard the Navy's Min Chuan ship, a 24-year-old soldier surnamed Ou allegedly jumped into the sea as the ship left Keelung Harbor at 10:30 PM, swam to Heping Island Park, and sought help from the Taiwan Navigation Company. The Navy confirmed the incident and stated that Ou sustained no major injuries and was discharged after a medical check-up. An investigation is ongoing into the reasons for his actions.
