Reported 8 months ago

The Ministry of National Defense is set to receive the Harpoon Coastal Defense System (HCDS) purchased from the US in 2021 starting in 2026, with completion by 2030. The system, including Harpoon land-based missiles, launchers, and radar vehicles, is part of efforts to enhance Taiwan's shore-based anti-ship capabilities when paired with indigenously developed Hsiung Feng II and III anti-ship missile systems, adding complexity to PLA's countermeasures. The RGM-84L-4 Harpoon Block II missiles, with a range of over 120km, feature GPS-assisted inertial and active radar terminal guidance, and armor-piercing warheads.
