NCC Announces Allocation of 2 FM Frequencies for Public Broadcaster Taiwan Radio to Avoid Interference from Across the Strait

Reported about 1 year ago

The National Communications Commission (NCC) announced the allocation of FM frequencies 94.9MHz in the Taoyuan-Miaoli-Hsinchu area and 94.7MHz in the Yunlin-Chiayi-Tainan area for the use of Taiwan Radio, requiring Taiwan Radio to submit relevant documents to the NCC for review. This decision aims to prevent interference from radio waves across the strait and improve audio quality compared to AM frequencies. The move also serves public interest by maintaining radio order and avoiding unwanted broadcast content from China entering Taiwan's airwaves, enhancing public welfare and diversity while maximizing spectrum efficiency.
