Facing significant fluctuations in subscriber numbers and unsuccessful attempts with low-priced ad plans, Netflix aims to boost subscribers by offering a free version in markets where the advertising market is large and free TV channels are popular, particularly in Europe and Asia. Despite dominating the streaming video sector, Netflix ranks poorly in the digital advertising market and is considering introducing more ads to increase revenue as user growth slows down.
