The highly anticipated new basketball league held another meeting today with only 9 team representatives present as Taipei Fubon Warriors and Taoyuan Pauian Leopards decided not to submit their intent to join the new alliance, resulting in their withdrawal along with the Steel Ballers who were participating in the meeting, leaving the new league with only 8 teams. The latest development came after PLG and T1 jointly announced the merger of their 11 teams, but the Leopards and Fubon, although willing, failed to submit their intent despite adjustments, prompting their exit. The process is now left with 9 teams for further discussions, and a new chairman, legislator Chuang Ray-hsun, was appointed. The direction of the new alliance's formation remains focused on the participation of 11 teams, as communicated by the league's spokesperson Zhang Shuren.
