Reported 10 months ago

According to the report from 'Breaking Defense' on June 17th, Rheinmetall presented the new 'Global Mobile Artillery Rocket System' (GMARS) developed in collaboration with Lockheed Martin at the European Defense Exhibition. Based on the HIMARS system and using Rheinmetall's HX series 8x8 tactical trucks, GMARS is capable of carrying various ammunition and accurately targeting distant objectives, meeting the artillery rocket needs of Germany and other European countries. The system can integrate different rocket types and has showcased excellent performance in conflicts like the Russo-Ukrainian War, while also reducing procurement and maintenance costs through NATO-standard ammunition compatibility. Rheinmetall's CEO stated that the partnership with Lockheed Martin will continue to enhance GMARS' combat capabilities by combining it with smaller rockets or land-based cruise missiles, ultimately boosting long-range strike capabilities in European countries.
