According to a report by the US newspaper Stars and Stripes, the US Army's 56th Artillery Command in Europe held a handover ceremony for the new commander, Major General Laferty, who will not only be responsible for coordinating artillery firepower within the US Army in Europe but also for closely collaborating with NATO allied artillery units to demonstrate strong firepower and deter potential threats. The ceremony took place in Wiesbaden, Germany, with General Williams of the US Army in Europe presiding over it. Laferty, previously involved in long-range precision fires planning, aims to enhance cross-border artillery cooperation and effectiveness in the future.
