During a recent interview, Patriots' offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt expressed his satisfaction with the development of rookie quarterback Drake Maye, the No. 3 overall pick in this year's draft. Van Pelt commended Maye for grasping the team's instructions and improving his play on the field, particularly in areas like calling plays from the huddle and maintaining rhythm while playing. Despite the positive strides, Maye is not expected to be the starting quarterback for New England in the immediate future, as current quarterback Jacoby Brissett remains in that role. However, as Maye continues to improve, it is believed he will eventually take over as the starting quarterback.
