In an effort to revitalize the Hengchun Airport in Pingtung, the county government collaborated with operators to launch aerial tours, attracting many tourists. The tours offer a unique perspective from 3000 feet in the air, showcasing the beauty of Hengchun Peninsula and its landmarks like Nanwan Beach, Sail Rock, and more. The first day of the tour saw a bustling crowd at the previously quiet airport, with discounted prices and comfortable flights in Italian twin-engine planes. While the success of transforming the airport solely with small sightseeing flights remains to be seen, the initial response has been overwhelmingly positive with flights quickly fully booked.
