The Hsinchu City Government's Transportation Department was reportedly searched by investigators from the Agency Against Corruption and the Hsinchu District Prosecutors' Office. A senior contract employee named Chen was taken in for questioning and was released on bail of 200,000 NT. The city clarified that after Mayor Gao Hong-an took office, they received an anonymous tip-off accusing Chen of corruption. This prompted the city to proactively investigate and cooperate with the authorities. Chen and two others were deemed to have committed serious offenses and were ordered to post bail by the Hsinchu District Court. The case is part of an ongoing investigation, and the city is respecting the judicial process.
