On June 29, 2024, Mayor Gao Hong-an of Hsinchu approved the appointment of the new Education Director, selecting Lin Li-sheng, currently an assistant professor in the Department of Infant and Child Care at Kainan University. Despite Gao being in office for a year and a half, this marks the third change in Education Directors. Councilor Tsai Hui-ting expressed hope that Lin can quickly familiarize himself with the city's education affairs and needs, bringing fresh perspectives to enhance Hsinchu's education system. Lin's past experiences as the education director in Chiayi City for five years, where he was known for introducing innovative initiatives, have raised expectations. However, challenges such as the unique educational culture of Hsinchu and various demands from parents and teachers will test Lin's capabilities. Lin's educational background and industry experience, aligned with Gao's city development plans, are seen as favorable qualities for the position.
