On June 9, 2024, a New Japan Airlines aircraft deviated from its path and collided with a tree in Kagoshima, injuring 2 people. The incident involved a four-seater small passenger plane landing at Kagoshima Airport when it veered off course and struck trees about 2 kilometers away. Fortunately, there were no major casualties. The aircraft was carrying 2 pilots conducting flight training, and after about 3 hours of rescue efforts, both pilots were saved. New Japan Airlines stated that the cause of the incident is still under investigation and they will fully cooperate with the accident investigation.
