The founder of New Kinpo (2888) and current chairman of New Kinpo Hospital, Wu Dongjin, was summoned by the New Taipei District Prosecutors on the suspicion of being involved in a corruption case related to the 'Sogo Castle Aerobic Park' project in the New Banqiao Special District of New Taipei City. Shin Kong Financial Holdings later issued a statement clarifying that the investigation has no relation to the company's operations. The investigation may be related to the substantial penalties imposed on Shin Kong Financial Holdings and New Kinpo Life Insurance by the Financial Supervisory Commission on March 10, 2022, for inadequate oversight of certain property management practices. The case also involves actions like leasing out unoccupied rooms to unspecified individuals for daily rent or lending them out at no cost, raising concerns of inadequate control and questionable transactions among related parties.
