On June 25, 2024, SpaceX's Falcon Heavy rocket successfully launched NOAA's latest GOES-U meteorological satellite from Kennedy Space Center at 5:26 pm local time. The GOES-U mission, a collaboration between NOAA and NASA, aims to strengthen weather observation and environmental monitoring in the Western Hemisphere.
