After a trial at the Hsinchu District Court, Zhang, a man surnamed Zhang, was criticized by his ex-sister-in-law for posting photos of him on a breakfast date with Chen, a woman surnamed Chen, and expressing love publicly, leading to a lawsuit. The court ruled that the sisters surnamed Xu each compensate Chen with NT$30,000, with the option to appeal. The ex-wife surnamed Xu even went as far as sending a letter to Chen's workplace, violating Chen's reputation and causing mental anguish, leading to the lawsuits. The court found the sisters' actions damaging to Chen's reputation and ordered compensation, with the case open for appeal.
