Taiwan's new professional basketball league, Taiwan Professional Basketball League (TPBL), was officially unveiled on July 9, 2024. The league will consist of seven teams including Taipei Taishin Warriors, New Taipei Kings, New Taipei CTBC Samurai, Taoyuan Taiwan Beer Yongfong Clouded Leopards, Hsinchu TopCity Attack Lions, Formosa Dreamers, and Kaohsiung FamilyMart Guardians. The teams issued a joint statement emphasizing their commitment to creating the best professional basketball platform in Taiwan. While expressing regret over the withdrawal of Taiwan's other four teams, they believe that under the leadership of Chairman Zhuang Ruixiong, the new league will provide players with the best stage and fans with exciting games.
