According to the latest statistics from the Ministry of Health and Welfare in Taiwan, the number of deaths in 2023 decreased by 2863 compared to the previous year, largely due to the reduction in deaths from COVID-19. The Deputy Director of the Health Promotion Administration, Tseng Shu-hui, estimated that COVID-19 deaths will drop to below the top 15 causes of death this year, with the death rate expected to be lower than last year.
