Reported 12 months ago

On the occasion of Taipei City's 113th Traffic Safety Year, Taipei, New Taipei, and Taoyuan jointly launched a new public bicycle injury insurance and violation points system on July 1st. Citizens who have not enrolled in the free public bicycle injury insurance will not be able to rent the YouBike 2.0E. Violations while riding YouBike will result in points, such as failure to yield to pedestrians on sidewalks, riding on pedestrian paths, running red lights, riding against traffic, using mobile phones, and carrying passengers. The regulations aim to cultivate good cycling habits, prevent dangerous behavior, and protect pedestrian safety.
