New Regulations on Housing Loans in Taiwan

Reported 9 months ago

To address loopholes, the Taiwanese government has implemented new regulations for housing loans, including stronger pre-loan reviews, post-loan management, and increased inspections. Starting immediately, new loan applicants are required to sign a 'self-occupancy undertaking' and a new clause limits each individual to receiving a loan only once. The Ministry of Finance will cross-reference data with the Ministry of the Interior to identify non-self-occupancy cases, cancel subsidies, and recover interest subsidies to ensure government funds are used appropriately.
