To prevent abuse of the New Youth Housing scheme, Taiwan's Ministry of Finance has implemented a new rule limiting each individual to receive the benefits only once. Public banks were urged to thoroughly investigate and report any clear evidence of violations such as dummy households or subletting within two weeks. The scheme, introduced in August 2021, led to a surge in property demand but also various irregularities. The government aims to ensure fair resource allocation by cracking down on violations and adjusting loan conditions where necessary.
