New Taipei Circular Line Shifted Post-Earthquake, Construction of 9 Sites Completed

Reported about 1 year ago

Due to the severe impact of the 0403 Hualien earthquake, the MRT Circular Line from Banxin Station to Zhongyuan Station has been halted since then, with a total of 11 shifts in steel box girders. Experts estimate at least a year for repairs. The New Taipei City MRT Bureau is currently working on restoration, with 9 of the 11 shifts having construction scaffolds set up. The first batch of plate supports is expected to arrive in mid-July, aiming to shorten the project timeline. The bureau is striving to complete the repairs ahead of schedule by focusing on efficient welding work and construction methods within the challenging conditions of the Circular Line project.
