As of 7:25 AM on June 18, 2024, the Central Weather Bureau in Taiwan has issued a heavy rain advisory, warning of potential short-duration heavy rainfall due to vigorous convective cloud development. Areas including Nantou, Changhua, Taichung, New Taipei City, Taipei, Keelung, Yilan, Miaoli, Taoyuan, and Hualien may experience heavy rain. Residents are advised to be cautious of lightning, strong winds, landslides, and rockfalls. While the probability of heavy rain has decreased, the bureau lifted the heavy rain advisory at 7:10 PM. Specific areas are under heavy rain or rain warnings, with Taipei, New Taipei, and Taoyuan included. Additionally, high temperatures and the potential for heatwaves are highlighted, especially in Taitung, with other areas under a yellow warning. The highest recorded temperature as of 2 PM was 37 degrees Celsius in Neipu Township, Pingtung County.
