New Taipei City Council Speaker Chiang Gen-huang's son Chiang Xin-chang was accused of spreading false rumors during the 2023 legislative election campaign regarding Democratic Progressive Party legislator Wu Bing-yui, resulting in a police investigation. Chiang Xin-chang was released on bail of 1 million NT dollars, while two other individuals involved were also dealt with by the authorities. Meanwhile, a joint investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau and the Cyber Security Investigation Office took place following a tip-off received by the authorities. The case continues with various legal proceedings.
