New Taipei City Council Speaker's son, Jiang Xinzhang, was summoned by the prosecutor for suspected violations of the election and recall law aiming to influence election results. After an investigation, Jiang Xinzhang, along with 2 others, were interrogated and Jiang was granted bail of 1 million NT dollars. Another team member was also granted bail while Jiang's assistant was detained and denied visitation. The investigation was prompted by information received by the New Taipei City Investigation Bureau regarding alleged misconduct during the previous legislative election involving Jiang Xinzhang.
