New Taipei Mayor outlines plans for Linkou Light Rail

Reported 8 months ago

New Taipei Mayor Hou Yu-ih announced that the Linkou Light Rail will be prioritized if it reaches a daily traffic threshold of 3,500 passengers per kilometer. The rail route could be overhead or underground, based on further studies, to address the rising regional traffic in Linkou, Wugu, and Taishan. Discussions with Taoyuan mayors about expanding light rail systems to meet demands have taken place. Concerns about potential traffic impact from the new Danjiang Bridge were raised, with suggestions for the new Guandu Bridge to connect to Provincial Highway 64 to avoid congestion.
