A new Trojan horse virus called 'Rafel RAT' is rapidly infecting Android devices globally, capable of stealing personal data, remote device control, and possibly intercepting two-factor authentication. Brands like Samsung, Xiaomi, ViVo, and Huawei are among those heavily affected. The virus has features like gaining administrator privileges, bypassing battery optimization, running in the background even when closed, and bypassing Google Play Protect. 'Check Point Research' detected around 120 attacks using Rafel RAT, targeting entities like military organizations mainly in the US, China, and India but with broader global impact due to its data transfer capabilities, interception of two-factor authentication, and wide range of malicious activities.
