According to SET News on June 25, 2024, a second wave of arrests was made in Hsinchu's police bribery case involving the police bureau's security department secretary, Song Ruei-zhan. Hsinchu City Council's secretary, Peng Xue-lei, and Hsinchu City Police Bureau's secretary, Song Ruei-zhan, are suspected of taking bribes to shelter the video game industry. Two retired officers were searched and interrogated, with one paying bail of 300,000 NT dollars and the other being put under house arrest. This follows a previous raid where substantial amounts of cash were confiscated from a prominent figure in the video game industry.
