New Zealand's Prime Minister Christopher Luxon's office confirmed that his official aircraft experienced mechanical issues during a refueling stop in Papua New Guinea while en route to Japan. As a result, Luxon had to continue his journey on a commercial flight. The Defense Minister of New Zealand expressed embarrassment over the situation, highlighting that the aircraft had two blown fuses. This marks the second time this year Luxon faced aircraft malfunctions during official travels, raising concerns about the aging fleet of New Zealand's defense forces, which may necessitate significant investments for replacements.
