A police officer surnamed Lin from the Sanxia Police Station in New Taipei City tragically fell and died while mountain climbing in Ywanshan Park on June 13, 2024. Lin had previously shown bravery by confronting a man wielding a knife who intruded into the station in May. The entire station is mourning the loss, as Lin's dedication to his job and quick thinking had previously prevented harm during the knife incident. Police are assisting with funeral arrangements as the case is still under investigation.
