Taipei, June 29, 2024, 4:10 PM - Taiwan's semiconductor industry is expected to surpass the 5 trillion mark for the first time this year. The National Development Council found that despite the highest share in the industry, the focus in the past eight years has not been on the service industry. The council proposed strategic directions categorized into three major groups—protecting the country, maintaining balance, and looking towards the future. Moving towards becoming a trillion-dollar industry is seen as a crucial direction, with a focus on AI industrialization and AI application development. Information service industry is expected to be one of the emerging sectors in creating a new trillion-dollar industry.
