NFL concludes Eagles' signing of Saquon Barkley did not violate tampering rules

Reported 7 months ago

The NFL investigation determined that the Philadelphia Eagles did not breach tampering regulations when they pursued and signed former Giants running back Saquon Barkley. The league stated that after scrutinizing phone records, messages, and other related documents, alongside interviewing key personnel like Howie Roseman, Nick Sirianni, Barkley, and Penn State's coach, James Franklin, there was insufficient evidence to support a violation. However, the Atlanta Falcons were found to have tampered with free agents Kirk Cousins, Darnell Mooney, and Charlie Woerner, resulting in a penalty of losing a fifth-round draft pick in 2025 and a $250,000 fine.
