After a three-month investigation, the NFL cleared the Philadelphia Eagles of illegal contact with Saquon Barkley, finding no evidence of tampering, but reserves the right to reopen the investigation. In contrast, the Atlanta Falcons were found to have improper contact with Kirk Cousins, Darnell Mooney, and Charlie Woerner during the legal tampering period, resulting in the Falcons forfeiting their 2025 fifth-round pick, paying a team fine, and the general manager personally fined. The different disciplines were explained by the violations occurring during the negotiating window rather than before it opened.
