The U.S. auto safety regulator, NHTSA, has closed a recall query involving 420,072 Volkswagen vehicles after the automaker addressed a potential fuel leak issue. The recall affected specific VW Golf, Jetta, and GTI models, as well as Audi A3 vehicles manufactured between 2015 and 2020. Initially issued in 2016 due to a defective suction jet pump inside the fuel tank, the NHTSA opened the recall query last year to investigate the repairs made by the company. Volkswagen issued another recall in February to address the suction jet pump issues after customer complaints.
