Nippon Steel and Sojitz are set to acquire a 49% stake in Champion Iron's Kami project in Canada for A$245 million. Nippon Steel will hold a 30% stake and Sojitz 19%, with potential contributions of up to A$490 million for project development. Champion Iron will maintain operational control while Nippon Steel aims to strengthen its supply chain from Kam.
