Nissan Motor is examining the cost strategies of Chinese suppliers to implement globally as part of a plan to reduce variable costs by 250 billion yen ($1.71 billion). Senior executive Tatsuzo Tomita emphasized the importance of standard parts and collaboration with designers, mentioning that the company aims to strengthen partnerships rather than reduce its supplier base. As part of a broader efficiency initiative, Nissan plans overall cost reductions of 500 billion yen by March 2027, including job cuts and plant consolidations.
