Nissan Motor is set to lay off more than 10,000 employees globally, bringing the total layoffs to around 20,000, which is about 15% of its workforce. This decision is part of the company's effort to streamline operations after poor sales in key markets, particularly in the U.S. and China. The car manufacturer faces significant financial challenges and has missed out on opportunities in the hybrid and electric vehicle markets. CEO Ivan Espinosa is restructuring the company's operations in light of these difficulties.
