Nissan advises owners of older vehicles not to drive them because of the danger posed by air bag inflators that may explode.

Reported 4 months ago

Nissan is advising owners of approximately 84,000 older vehicles to refrain from driving them due to the heightened risk of their Takata air bag inflators exploding in a crash and projecting dangerous metal fragments. This warning follows a fatality and numerous injuries caused by these inflators, with affected vehicles including certain models of Sentra, Pathfinder, and Infiniti SUVs produced between 2002 and 2006. Nissan is offering free inflator replacements and other services to affected owners, emphasizing the seriousness of the issue given the potential for serious injuries or death.
