During the negotiation of Article 62 of the National Health Insurance Act on July 5, 2024, led by Legislative Yuan President Han Kuo-yu, representatives from three parties discussed for about two hours but failed to reach a consensus. NHIA Director Shih Chung-liang stated that although consensus was not achieved today, parties will continue to engage in rational thinking and carry on with health insurance reform work. Concerns were raised over the proposed amendment to increase the minimum point value under Article 62, as it may impact medical expenditure control and potentially lead to a rise in insurance premiums. Despite the lack of consensus, health insurance reform efforts will continue, with a focus on expanding health insurance resources and maintaining appropriate growth rates.
