A 20-year-old man surnamed Ma, originally a machinist earning a monthly salary of about 30,000, decided to earn extra money by becoming a driver for a fraud group. After being caught the first time, he paid 50,000 for bail and re-offended within 5 days, claiming he thought paying bail meant he was in the clear. He received sentences of 7 and 8 months for the two offenses, with the 8-month sentence now final and must serve time. Despite two attempts at being a driver, he did not earn any money. The judge cited teachings from Confucius and Mencius, advising him to walk the right path and be a dignified individual.
