Parents from Taipei and Kaohsiung have accused junior high and high school sports teams of collecting fees unlawfully when the teams are already subsidized. Parents are required to pay a monthly team fee of NT$2,000, or their children are barred from training and even from participating in competitions. The Education Ministry's Sports Administration has pledged to investigate the situation. Concerns are raised over unclear financial records, suggesting that the money collected may have gone directly into the coaches' pockets, leading to parents advocating for transparent team accounting to protect students' rights.
