North Korea Releases 7th Wave of Trash Balloons With Over 2,000 Balloons South Korea Resumes Shooting Training After 7 Years

Reported 9 months ago

On the evenings of June 24 and 25, North Korea released over 350 and 250 trash balloons respectively, and on the night of June 26, more balloons were observed drifting south from North Korea towards the northern part of Gyeonggi Province with the northwest wind. These balloons, carrying paper scraps and other trash, have been released seven times over the past month, believed to be a protest against North Korea by sending anti-North Korean leaflets to defector groups within South Korea's borders. South Korea has responded by resuming border broadcasts and shooting training after 7 years, with the military conducting live-fire exercises near the Northern Limit Line.
