North Macedonia's government revealed a $500 million partnership with renewables investor Alcazar Energy Partners to construct the country's biggest wind farm in the southeast region. The project aims to enhance energy independence and attract foreign investment, marking the largest investment in renewable energy sources in the nation. With plans to commence construction in early 2026, the wind farm is expected to generate 400 megawatts of renewable energy, powering over 100,000 households annually while reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 670,000 tons per year. Alcazar Energy Partners also intends to establish grid connections with neighboring countries to alleviate energy shortages and promote the shift to renewable energy in the Western Balkans.
