Northvolt Chair Jim Hagemann Snabe does not expect to return to his position at the Swedish lithium-ion battery manufacturer after being on sick leave since the beginning of the year, as reported by Danish business daily Borsen. The company is facing challenges such as a slowdown in demand for electric vehicles, high energy costs, and rising raw material prices. The board has been under the guidance of British national Tom Johnstone since early 2024. Snabe cited a near-fatal accident in January while swimming as the reason for his sick leave, which led to severe complications and multiple surgeries.
