A 38-year-old female nurse surnamed Li from Taipei Medical University Hospital died suddenly in her dorm, with her parents alleging irregular shifts led to her overwork and subsequent death. They sought over 7.32 million yuan in compensation but lost the case in the first instance due to the inability to prove it was work-related. The appeal was also rejected, with the court noting the lack of evidence of excessive workloads. The hospital was ruled not liable for compensation, as announced by the High Court.
