Occasional Severe Weather Not as Scary as it Seems, Says Expert

Reported 11 months ago

In the post-Dragon Boat Festival period, weather expert Wu Shengyu predicts that this week will bring rainfall patterns influenced by southwestern winds, with occasional strong local showers but nothing to fear. Descending into the late Mei-Yu season, fronts are swinging north and south above Taiwan, causing short thunderstorms and rain in southern regions and spotty afternoon thunderstorms in mountainous and northern areas. Wu reassures the public that while occasional severe weather is possible, it's not as frightening as the media portrays. The Mei-Yu season is expected to conclude with no major disasters and a moderate amount of replenishing rainwater in reservoirs before summer brings rising temperatures and less rain.
