In Taiwan, there are nearly 300 reported cases of sea turtles being stranded or injured each year, with most cases resulting in death. To improve efficiency in caring for these turtles, more sea turtle rescue centers are being established, with Pingtung Marine Center being the largest. Many of the injuries are caused by abandoned fishing lines, leading to severe consequences such as amputation or death. The key to addressing sea turtle injuries lies in promoting marine ecological conservation efforts, as highlighted by the rescue and rehabilitation processes at these centers.
